We built the app so we cannot hear your recordings.
Recordings made in the SaidSo app are encrypted on your phone before they leave. Our servers keep sealed files and never hold the key, which stays on your family's devices. Voice notes sent through WhatsApp work differently: WhatsApp delivers them to our server unencrypted, so this promise does not cover them.
Because we never hold the key, we cannot restore it for you. If every device holding it is lost, the recordings cannot be opened again, by you or by us. A way for trusted family members to help you recover is planned but not built yet.
